Stewart Banner Joins Emory Law Alumni Board at 2025 Alumni Weekend

Emory School of Law Board of Directors

BRAWW Law is proud to announce that attorney Stewart Banner has been appointed as a new member of the Emory Law Alumni Board. Stewart participated in the Board’s bi-annual meeting during Emory’s alumni weekend, which took place October 23-25, 2025, and featured an update on the current state and new direction of the Law School from Dean Richard Freer.

The Emory Law Alumni Board and Emory Law Dean’s Advisory Board, each representing a diverse range of perspectives and geography, are appointed and work together to advise the dean and senior staff on the interests of the Emory Law community. The Advisory Board concentrates primarily on fiscal and operational strategic planning, while the Alumni Board focuses on strategic planning for alumni engagement. These volunteer leaders help keep the law school apprised of and responsive to the current state of the legal profession and the concerns and needs of Emory Law’s alumni.

The current Alumni Board has 27 members from throughout the country and overseas, consisting of Emory Law alumni from a variety of areas including private practice, the judiciary, government, corporate law departments, business, and academia.

A highlight of the weekend was the Emory Law Alumni Awards ceremony held on October 23, 2025 at the Law School. Each year, the Emory Law Alumni Association in partnership with the Alumni Board hosts this award ceremony to recognize outstanding alumni who have achieved distinction in legal practice, teaching, research, or public administration and who have demonstrated distinguished service to Emory Law, the Emory Law Alumni Association, or Emory University.

The Alumni Board makes nominations for each of the awards and recommends new members of the Board each year. This year’s recipients were:

  • Distinguished Alumni: Terrence Adamson (68C, 73L)
  • Eléonore Raoul Trailblazer Award: Youshea Berry (02L)
  • Alumni Service: Benjamin Fink (92L)
  • Young Alumni: Ben Farley (11L)

These individuals embody the spirit of the institution, and the Law School community was proud to recognize their significant contributions to their fields and communities.

As the Law School reflects on the success of Alumni Weekend, the focus also turns to the future. The weekend included an opportunity for alumni to support the next generation of Emory Law lawyers through contributions to the Richard D. Freer Scholarship, which supports the commitment to student flourishing and the development of principled, sophisticated legal professionals.

Stewart’s appointment to the Alumni Board underscores both his personal dedication to Emory Law and our firm’s commitment to supporting meaningful civic and professional engagement that strengthens the legal profession and the communities we serve.
