Partner scores a hole in one with local publication: Tim Ramsey was recently featured in the "In Recess" section of the Fulton County Daily Report, an Atlanta-based news paper that focuses on the legal community. Partner Jessica Harper recently assisted in editing, cite-checking and overseeing the completion of a report that drew media attention from periodicals ranging from the Fulton County Daily Report to nationally recognized journals. The report, which is reprinted here [PDF], was commissioned by The Georgia Association for Women Lawyers ("GAWL") and entitled "It's About Time II: Examining Flexible Work Arrangements from the Attorney's and the Firm's Perspectives -- A Study of Part-Time Policies in Georgia Law Firms." The report examines part-time work arrangements at law firms with ten or more attorneys in Georgia. In addition to Jessica's involvement, our firm also participated in the survey upon which the study is based. "It's About Time II" presents fair and practical solutions for lawyers seeking alternative work schedules and law firms providing them. Who let the Dogwoods out? Recently, Stephen C. Andrews was re-elected to serve another term on the Board of Directors for the Atlanta Dogwood Festival. In addition, he was elected to serve as its Vice-Chair next year (2007-08). His duties this year, as Vice - Chair, include assisting the Chair to execute the Board's initiatives regarding the 2008 Atlanta Dogwood Festival. Specifically, he will be involved with overseeing the development and growth of the cultural and entertainment aspects of the Festival. Tim Ramsey was officially sworn in on May 22, 2007 as the newest Member at Large of the 2007-2008 Board of Directors of the Atlanta Bar Association. Tim was the Chairman of Atlanta Bar Association Real Estate Section for the 2006-2007 year. He looks forward to serving as Member at Large on the Board of Directors for the coming year. Award Winning Vision Jessica Harper won the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers' "Visionary Award" at its Annual Dinner on May 22, 2007. Jessica's selection from among eight candidates was based on her work as Chair of the newly-formed Judicial Applicant Review Committee ("JARC"). In the past year, JARC has researched and evaluated nearly one hundred judicial applicants in seven counties. Jessica presented JARC's opinions to former Attorney General Michael Bowers and his eighteen-member Judicial Nominating Commission. Stephen C. Andrews was recognized by the Atlanta Bar Foundation Board of Directors as a "Charter Lifetime Fellow".
