STEPHEN C. ANDREWS is a Principal in the Litigation Section. He has been a member of the Firm since 1986. His practice focuses primarily on family law and the litigation of estate, probate and trust cases. He also represents and counsels physicians and other health care professionals on disciplinary and licensure matters before their respective boards.

A member of the State Bar of Georgia since 1983, Mr. Andrews is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Courts for Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Georgia.

Mr. Andrews is a member of the Family and Fiduciary Law Sections of the State Bar of Georgia. He also serves on the State Bench and Bar Committee which has been instrumental in the development and implementation of Judicial District Professionalism Committees. Mr. Andrews is a member of the Estate Planning and Family law sections of the Atlanta Bar Association. In 2007, Mr. Andrews was named as the Co-Chair of the Atlanta Bar Association Disaster Response Committee, Subcommittee on Judicial Response. Mr. Andrews was a Special Assistant Attorney General retained to represent the Composite State Board of Medical Examiners in physician disciplinary matters from 1993 to 1999.

Mr. Andrews received a Juris Doctorate from the University of Georgia, Lumpkin School of Law in 1983. During law school, he served on the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law. Before becoming a lawyer, he received a Bachelor of Arts from Emory University in 1979 and was awarded a Robert T. Jones, Jr. Scholarship to attend the University of St. Andrews in Scotland from 1979 to 1980. Mr. Andrews is married to the Honorable Doris L. Downs, Chief Judge of the Fulton County Superior Court. They have two (2) daughters, Curry and Jessie. He is active in the Midtown Atlanta Rotary Club, where he was president in 2003, and the Atlanta Dogwood Festival, where he was re-elected to the Board of Directors for the 2007-2008 year and will serve as its Vice-Chair.
